It all depends on the amount of connections and the quality of those seeds/peers. Some torrents can outperform another torrent with the same amount of seeds.
When torrenting you have to be aware that you can only download as fast as someone else is uploading. If you go over all these settings and make sure they are set correctly you shouldn't have any issues. Lastly, check and make sure your hard drive is not full or close to full. Go to bittorrent settings and make sure DHT and PeX is enabled. Also since you're not on a VPN I would make sure UPnP port forwarding is enabled that way port forwarding is working correctly. If you are torrenting in general I HIGHLY recommend using a VPN like Mullvad. If you're not on a VPN maybe your ISP is throttling your torrent speeds. Go to ur speeds tab and enable all the boxes for rate limit. Change your port number to something random. You can set these to 0 (unlimited) but I recommend doing a speed test and setting a limit slightly below your connection speed. I find about 100 connections per torrent and 300 max global connections to be sufficient for my 1gb fiber connection and my computers performance.Ĭheck your speed restrictions. Try increasing the amount of connections per torrent, max download slots etc. Are you having this problem with a specific torrent or all torrents in general? With this troublesome torrent how many seeds/peers are you actually connecting to? A torrent might have 300 seeders but if you are only connecting to a couple of them your speeds will not be very good. Most likely you have some settings that are not set correctly.
